Always amazing food and service in a fun New York themed setting. I've been here a few times. My favorite Halal, a definite preference to the other "guys". Everyone we come the two people working always seem happy to see us. My wife dropped something outside their front door and the gentlemen there came out to greet us and let her know she dropping something. When I ordered my bowl I didn't want the salad, I was asked if I wanted fries, I said no, and then asked if I wanted pita, I said yes. Instead of just taking off an item and making more of out they found a way to still give me something to substitute the salad. Who does that? Inside is a very colorful New York murals with gravity. Just fun. The food. Amazing. You see it on the verticals broiler when you walk in. After they slice the meat they do a quick grill on it. I love the crispy bits. So flavorful and tender. Both their white and red sauce are great. My wife got samosas last time. So delicate and light. Best samosa. Have been a few times, will be back a few more!
This was the first time trying Halal which I was a little weary of because I'm super picky an I dislike Greek food. I was pleasantly surprised that this was nothing like Greek food an it was delicious . Definitely a little hole in a wall place that should be checked they have a great menu tons of options they have tables for you to eat there it's nice an cool inside it's definitely a family friendly restaurant. The staff was a lovely lady who was extremely polite and helpful she explained what was offered and what things were . She was very patient with me who takes a long time to decide what I want. Will definitely go back and try something new .
So far as I walk up to the door the owner is cleaning the windows and door. Which to me is a good sign of one hell of a hard worker. He welcomes us in, turns the tv on and says "here's how we make our food" which I think is so awesome for people who don't understand halal food preparation. Then he thoroughly explains all his menu items giving great ideas and offering different options, completely took all the guesswork out of exploring a new place with no idea what to get. This man is doing it right! Friendly, attentive, and hardworking?! I'm sold. The food was ASTOUNDING. And he checked on us as we were eating it to make sure we were happy. He gave us extra bottles of spicy sauce, white sauce, and green sauce. Holy COW, this joint is a go to, and boy am I so glad I found it. 100% recommend!!
The food was super yummy! I ordered a combo over rice bowl with fries and it was really good. I also got a lychee boba which was delicious and refreshing. I'd buy it all again with the boba too :) lastly, the service was really nice- super welcoming and kind!
Finally had the chance to try this 'New York' themed spot and the food was great! Ordered a combo rice plate and it definitely came in that NY style. The classic white and hot sauce was on point. Also appreciated the chickpeas mixed in the rice, gave it a great texture. The only downside was the cost; it was on the higher side, considering the plate size. The flavor is all there so definitely still worth a try!
